Well it looks like the successor to Google’s first and best-selling tablet, the Asus-made Google Nexus 7,
is bound to hit the search giant’s Play Store portal in a couple of
months, rumored to feature a processor from Qualcomm as well as a minor
face lift, the next-gen Nexus 7 is obviously going to be targeted
directly at Apple’s iPad Mini.
The upcoming Nexus 7 will purportedly still sport the same display
size but with a front-fascia that’s slightly altered and a teeny bit
more svelte waistline as a result of its thinner bezels — vertical,
horizontal or both? That, we don’t know. It is highly possible that the
tablet will still resemble its predecessor but expect it to fit more
comfortably in your hand.
We’ve been hearing a lot of rumors surrounding the new Nexus 7′s
innards, unfortunately, looks like Google has decided to take the
energy-efficiency route this time which means the Nvidia Tegra 4 is a
no-go, instead, numerous reports are pointing at Qualcomm’s
high-performance [but battery-friendly] Snapdragon 600 system-on-a-chip.
Apart from obvious reasons, we’re guessing that Qualcomm gave Google
an irresistible deal to win against the green team.
As for pricing, Google is likely to offer the second-generation Nexus
7 with a starting price of $199, just like it did when the original
Nexus 7 was launched last year. There’s also a possibility that the
newer Nexus 7 might be launched with a more pocket-friendly $149 price
at the cost of the older model being defunct.
The refreshed Nexus 7 is expected to feature the Android 5.0 Key Lime
Pie at launch and will receive the retail green light sometime in July.
It is worth noting that the base model of the Apple iPad Mini is
priced considerably higher than the Nexus 7 at $329 a pop, the latter
may be cheaper due to its plastic construction and its underwhelming
design but the Nexus 7 does come with a significantly faster processor,
larger amount of RAM and better compatibility with other devices and
accessories due to its standard output ports and thanks to the Android
mobile

Semoga pemikiran konvensional bahwa yang populer selalu merupakan yang terbaik tidak terus menerus dipertahankan. Sudah saatnya diubah. Kenapa? Sekali lagi, karena yang terbaik tidak harus yang terpopuler.
